Kumbh Mela occurs every 12 years and is held at four major pilgrimage sites with river banks, which are Haridwar (Ganga), Ujjain (Shipra), Nashik (Godavari) and Prayagraj (a confluence of Ganga-Yamuna-Saraswati occurs). Devotees on this day take a holy dip in the sacred rivers and wash off their sins. Grand fairs are organized in the form of celebration, and donations and charitable acts are carried out during this period. It is believed that bathing on this day gives a chance to atone for one’s mistakes in the mistakes and cleanse the soul.
Special arrangements were made to accommodate the people visiting Ujjain Kumbh Mela. Camps and tents were put near the banks of the Shipra river for the crowd visiting Kumbh Mela by Alakh Jyoti Foundation !
